Fr. Steve reflects on spiritual battles, and the importance of recognizing the eternal consequences of our actions. He again addresses the risks of technology, even comparing devices to the Eye of Sauron from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The Evil One can use technology to trap, track and lure us, especially children. One parishioner suggested the better comparison might have been Palantíri (Seeing Stones) in the LOTR, which can be used for good or ill. They require wisdom & discernment, as does our use of the technology of our day. I agree. Whatever the comparison, let's protect ourselves. And our kids!
