Let us live lives that get us to heaven

Homily Series: Death and Judgment

Know my love, live in my love and get ready for death!

In John 14-17 we hear Jesus speaking to his disciples about abiding in him, being a branch of his vine. Jesus prays for us on the eve of his death and also for those who will hear the good news through his disciples. He also prays for unity, that we may all be one even as he and the Father are one. Our current state of disunity among the Christian churches is a scandal.

God knows us through and through and it is only by surrendering to his Spirit that we can be cleansed of sin and brokenness.

Fr. Steve delivers the message from the second reading from the book of Revelation concerning how all of us will be judgment one day on our conduct in this life and asks, “What is the best way to live?” We need to live our baptism. We may be called home at any time, even today. So let us be ready, having lived a life of love and truth. We must stay connected with Jesus, pursue him and love him. Our salvation depends on it.

Let us know his love, receive it and share it with others, so that they too might be saved.
