The dangers of synodality

Homilies

Remain in the barque of Peter.

Fr. Steve notes that the Synod of Youth is just completing. He highlights the danger of the Church becoming synodal, which would mean that individual synods in individual countries could vote on which doctrines to uphold and which to discard. This is the way the Anglican Church has gone.

In today's epistle to the Ephesians, St. Paul urges us to achieve maturity, not just to be “as good as we can be.” That is modernism, not the gospel. “Living the truth in love,” is what St. Paul says we should strive after. We are meant to live as the body of Christ, not as a fragmentary collection of ideologies.

Fr. Steve urges us to pray, trust in the Lord, and stay on the side of truth no matter what occurs in the Church.
