I grew up in Wyoming, MI, just outside of Grand Rapids. I graduated from Western Michigan in 1999 with a Bachelor’s of Science with an emphasis on Secondary Education. My first teaching job was at Harrison Alternative High School. From there I went to my own Alma Mater, Wyoming Park High School, before landing at Lansing Catholic High School in 2002. I taught freshman science from 2002 until 2019 and I became the LCHS service coordinator in 2013. In 2019, I stepped out of the classroom for the first time in my professional life to join the Resurrection team. I am still the Service Coordinator at LCHS, but am now the Formation Program Coordinator at the Church of the Resurrection.
I was received into the Catholic Church in 2009 with the help of the LCHS chaplain, Fr. Joe Krupp. The LCHS community was a huge reason for my conversion, and that has been helped and furthered by joining Resurrection as a parishioner in 2013. All the love and support that I felt moved in my heart and helped me to see how Jesus had already been at work in my life. I am so grateful for my time with both of these communities and am always in awe at the providential care of God.
